STUDIO POLICY & ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT

2026–2027

TUITION & PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Enrollment in the studio begins with a free 30-minute trial lesson. During this initial consultation, lesson length and goals for each student are discussed, considering both age and skill level.
Tuition is structured as a flat-rate monthly retainer which guarantees your weekly lesson time slot in the studio schedule. Tuition remains the same every month, regardless of whether there are 3, 4, or 5 lessons in that month. Lessons are based on a year-long schedule: 16 lessons for each semester and 6 summer lessons (38 total lessons each calendar year). The studio reserves the right to discontinue lessons in cases of unpaid tuition, excessive absences, or ongoing lack of preparation.

30-Minute Weekly Lesson: $180 per month
45-Minute Weekly Lesson: $250 per month
60-Minute Weekly Lesson: $340 per month

Due Date: Tuition is due in full on the 1st of each month.
Late Fees: Payments received after the 8th of the month will incur a $25 late fee.
Payment Methods: Zelle, Venmo, check, or cash

ANNUAL MATERIALS & REGISTRATION FEE

A fee of $75 per student is due upon enrollment and annually for each year of enrollment. This fee covers method books, sheet music, theory book, and other necessary materials, as well as piano tuning and maintenance of the studio instrument. Additional recital fees, competition fees, theory test fees, etc., will be charged on an individual basis based on student participation.

PRACTICE & INSTRUMENT EXPECTATIONS

Progress in developing skill at the piano is a partnership between teacher, student, and parents. Focused practice time is required to continue learning and maintain enrollment in the studio.

At-Home Instrument: Students must have access to a well-maintained acoustic piano or a 88-key digital piano with fully weighted, touch-sensitive keys and a sustain pedal.

Practice Goals: Students are expected to practice at least 5 days a week. Recommended daily practice times mirror the lesson length (e.g., 30 minutes of daily practice for a 30-minute lesson student).

ATTENDANCE & CANCELLATION POLICY

Because your tuition reserves a dedicated, recurring time slot, no refunds or tuition credits are given for student absences.

Student Illness or Schedule Conflicts: If a student cannot attend in person due to mild illness or a scheduling conflict, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at an alternate time.

Advanced Notice: If you give at least 24 hours’ notice of an absence, you will receive a make-up credit. A maximum of 2 make-up credits can be issued per semester, to be used during designated studio make-up weeks or in a vacant studio time-slot as the schedule allows.

Last-Minute Absences: Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are automatically forfeited.

Teacher Absences: If I must cancel a lesson due to illness or professional obligations, a make-up lesson will be scheduled, or a direct credit will be applied to the following month’s tuition.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

Please arrive exactly on time. Lessons cannot be extended for late arrivals.

Students must remember to bring all books and assignments to every lesson.

Keep hands clean out of respect for other students using the piano; washing hands before the lesson is recommended.

Please do not bring a student to an in-person lesson if they have had a fever, vomiting, or a contagious cough within the last 24 hours.
